Last night’s episode of NXT featured title defenses by both Io Shirai and Keith Lee.
In the main event of the show, Shirai defeated Tegan Nox to retain the NXT Women’s Championship. Shirai’s next challenger looks to have been revealed after the match, with Dakota Kai attacking Shirai on the stage before the episode went off the air.
After defeating Adam Cole in their winner-take-all title vs. title match at Great American Bash night two, Keith Lee made an appearance at the start of last night’s show. It set up Lee defending his NXT Championship and NXT North American Championship against Dominik Dijakovic later in the episode.
Lee retained his titles, but Scarlett came down to the ring after and dumped a broken hourglass into the ring as a warning to Lee on behalf of Karrion Kross.
Dijakovic did a post-match interview backstage and was asked about Kross. He said Kross is good — but he’s not Keith Lee. Kross then confronted Dijakovic, brawled with him, and laid him out.
