Upper Iowa University Wrestling has an opening for an assistant wrestling coach.
The Assistant Wrestling Coach reports directly to the Head Wrestling Coach and is responsible for assisting in the planning, directing, and evaluating all aspects and facets of a successful wrestling program. Duties include: recruitment of skilled and academically qualified student-athletes and monitoring academic progress and eligibility. Assist in the planning, organizing, conducting, and evaluating practices sessions along with development, implementation, and evaluation of match plans and strategies. Serve as leader, mentor, and role-model to student-athletes. Assist head coach in the preparation of team schedule, fundraising initiatives, team travel and other administrative processes/procedures. Ensure compliance with all necessary policies, procedures, and regulations.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three (3) years coaching experience in intercollegiate wrestling or related experience. Must possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Must be highly motivated, an energetic self-starter, have sound judgment, and decision-making ability along with attention to detail.
