It was a miracle when Daniel Bryan was officially cleared to return to the ring earlier this year by WWE’s medical staff. Bryan’s in-ring career in WWE appeared to come to an end in 2016 when he was forced into an early retirement due to the number of concussions that he received during his career. Bryan has been back in the ring on a regular basis ever since his return match at WrestleMania 34, but fans have been disappointed with some of the programs that he has been involved in ever since he was cleared to wrestle. Bryan began a feud against Big Cass after WrestleMania, and he is now partnering up with Kane once again as part of Team Hell No at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view.
According to a report from Wrestling Standard (formerly known as PWStream), WWE has been putting Bryan in one-off matches against the likes AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, and Jeff Hardy lately because the company is not sure if he will be signing a new deal with them before his contract expires this September. As a result of his possible departure from the company, WWE is trying to get the most out of Bryan while he is still available. It was also reported that The Miz will likely cost Bryan and Kane their match against The Bludgeon Brothers at Extreme Rules. This will then lead to a match between The Miz and Daniel Bryan at SummerSlam this August, which The Miz will likely win unless Bryan decides to stick around in WWE.
Peyton Royce and Billie Kay became an unstoppable and immensely popular tag team in the women’s division in NXT, so when the Australian duo was promoted to WWE’s main roster earlier this year, fans were excited to see what Kay and Royce would be able to accomplish. They arrived on Smackdown the night after WrestleMania this year to attack Charlotte Flair, and they continue to appear on Smackdown each week. During the newest episode of Ride Along on the WWE Network, a video showing Triple H officially promoting The IIconics to the main roster was shown. The two of them broke down in tears after learning that they would officially fulfill their dreams of becoming WWE Superstars.
