Coventry City face expulsion from the English Football League unless they provide clarity on where they will play their home games next season.

The League One club are locked in a legal battle concerning the sale of the Ricoh Arena to Premiership rugby union club Wasps in 2014.

Their current rental agreement with the stadium expires in the summer, and unless a solution is reached in the next two months, the EFL will call an EGM of all 72 clubs to consider the Sky Blues’ future in the league.

“The football club wants to do a deal with Wasps Rugby Club as soon as possible, to resolve this impasse,” a statement said.

“These dates show how stark the situation facing the football club now is and that time is running out.”

Coventry and the EFL agree that the club should seek to continue playing at the Ricoh Arena.
