Newcastle United 2019/20 kits: Magpies’ Puma shirts for next season leaked

The current campaign isn’t even close to being over yet but already Newcastle United fans have got a glimpse of the kit they may be wearing in 2019/20.

Rafael Benitez’s side, who are currently battling against relegation to the Championship, aren’t ever going to be a team to throw up a huge surprise with their new shirts given their legendary black and white stripes.

It appears, though, Puma have decided to throw a small curveball – but one with a bit of history behind it.

Footyheadlines released the images of the home jersey and it has a centred crest, just like Newcastle had in the 1970s and for short spells in the 1990s and 2000s.

The symbol also looks set to be monochrome, shedding the gold and blue previously seen in it, while the stripes are much thicker, with a crew neck collar holding it all together.

The away shirt has also been leaked and it sees the Magpies revisiting the orange and blue combination from 2011/12, with a graphic print some fans believe is a nod to the roofing at St James’ Park.

You can see both efforts below.
