On Monday, one of them was kind of (sort of) clarified with the release of Jack and Eugenie’s monogrammed wedding china, now available for purchase.
(Sidebar: is it not incredibly strange to buy a set of monogrammed wedding china for someone else’s wedding? It would be like me printing out a photo of Prince Louis to stick on my fridge. “Who’s the cute baby?” “Oh, that would be Louis Arthur Charles, fifth in line to the throne.” Sure, the design is pretty, but get your own monogram!)
Anyway … said china features three monogram designs: Eugenie’s, which is an elegant “E” topped with a golden crown, because, you know, the whole princess thing.

Then we have Jack’s monogram, which is slightly underwhelming. It’s just a “J.” A fancy “J,” no doubt, but it bears no crown, scepter, corgi, or anything else remotely royal.

Oh, but if they were to combine their ‘grams, then he’d get to share the crown, right? WRONG.

Here we see the E and J intertwined, but there’s not a tiara in sight.
Unlike Duchesses Meghan and Kate (and their respective crown-bearing monograms), Jack will not receive a royal title by marrying into the royal family. The Queen technically could grant Eugenie’s husband a royal title on their wedding day (as she did with Prince Harry’s dukedom), but judging by the state of their monogrammed china, his chances aren’t looking great.

Though Brooksbank’s family name shall remain, Princess Eugenie’s may change slightly. In wedding Jack, Eugenie will have the option to change her name from HRH Princess Eugenie to HRH Princess Eugenie, Mrs. Jack Brooksbank. However, there’s also a chance she will abandon her title, opting for Lady Eugenie. As lovely as it would be, we have a feeling she won’t begin introducing herself as Eugenie Brooksbank, the way the Queen’s granddaughter Zara, who goes by her married name Zara Tindall, has chosen to do.
