According to L’Équipe, Marseille have made contact through an intermediary with former Chilean national team coach Jorge Sampaoli this weekend as OM look to replace current manager Michel at the end of the season.
President Vincent Labrune has decided that he wants to speak directly with Sampaoli and hopes to set that up as quickly as possible.
It is no secret that Sampaoli is one of Marcelo Balsa’s disciples and he is understood to be in regular contact with El Loco about Marseille’s situation. As a result, should Sampaoli take on the challenge at Marseille, he will know about the difficulties that he is in for.
