French international and defensive midfielder Lassana Diarra informed Marseille manager Rudi Garcia this afternoon that he did not currently feel ready to play for the side, having taking the January window out of football with OM so that he could sort out his situation, according to L’Équipe.
The player has been seeking a move away so that he can pay a reported €10m fine that he owes to a former club of his, Lokomotiv Moscow.
This news came as a big surprise to his teammates who trained as normal alongside Diarra, with the Frenchman not showing at the team meeting this evening ahead of a trip to FC Nantes tomorrow night.

It is too early to say whether or not this decision is definitive, but the omens are not good for a continuation of the Marseille – Diarra love story.
