As was previously reported, two big matches occurred on tonight’s Smackdown Live, which changed the landscape of the WWE Fastlane Pay Per View in regards to the WWE Championship.
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn attacked both Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler at the onset of the show, cancelling their qualifying matchup, but leading to two subsequent qualifying matches in which one or BOTH men could qualify for an opportunity at the WWE Championship.
The first of two saw Baron Corbin square off against Kevin Owens in a match that indeed did see Baron Corbin be successful in qualifying for WWE Championship match at WWE Fastlane.
The second of two matches saw Sami Zayn take on Dolph Ziggler in a grueling match that saw Dolph Ziggler be victorious and punch his ticket to the main event of WWE Fastlane as well.
The victories by Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler effectively makes the WWE Championship match at WWE Fastlane a FATAL 5-WAY between AJ Styles (c), Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Baron Corbin, and Dolph Ziggler.
