It has been officially confirmed that “The Monster” Abyss will be the next superstar to take his rightful place in the Impact Wrestling Hall of Fame.

The announcement was made during Thursday night’s episode of Impact Wrestling on Pop TV, as the promotion invaded Mexico City for the first time ever! Abyss will be honored during this year’s huge Bound for Glory weekend in New York City.

There is no doubt that Abyss (real name: Christopher Joseph Park) deserves this great honor, as he has spent the last 17 years of his career dedicated to the Impact Wrestling brand. He made his debut at the very first NWA Total Nonstop Action pay-per-view back in June 2002, working under the name “Justice” at the time, and was also a part of the very first televised episode of Impact Wrestling.

Throughout his career “The Monster” became known for wrestling extremely violent matches — essentially putting the Monster’s Ball stipulation on the map – in an era where that older hardcore style was more or less absent from mainstream pro wrestling television.

Abyss is not only a Triple Crown Champoin, but he became only the second Grand Slam Championship in the promotion’s history, having captured the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, the X-Division Championship, the TNA Tag Team Championships (with three different partners) as well as racking up two reigns as TNA Television Champion.

Congratulations to “The Monster” Abyss on this well-deserved induction into the Impact Wrestling Hall of Fame Class of 2018!
