Conspicuous by her absence this week on both WWE Raw and Smackdown Live was former champion and this year’s WrestleMania guest host, Alexa Bliss. The so-called Goddess was replaced in segments by her storyline bestie Nikki Cross, who acted as a surrogate for a segment of A Moment of Bliss, and even filled in for a match as well.
Bliss has actually been out of action for the last week with a serious sinus infection, reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. As of now, she will be ready to go this weekend at Extreme Rules.
She was originally scheduled to work angles on both go-home shows, but as we saw on television plans were changed and Cross was added to the Smackdown Women’s Championship at Extreme Rules. Bliss and Cross will now team up to face Bayley in a 2-on-1- handicap situation, although it’s not exactly clear what will happen if the two actually win the title…together.
