Leeds defender Pontus Jansson led Malmo fans in song before the 3-0 defeat to Chelsea in the Europa League.

The Swedish defender was in fine voice as he pumped up the travelling faithful on the streets of west London.

And the noise did not relent during the clash – even as Olivier Giroud, Ross Barkley and Callum Hudson-Odoi ensured a comfortable 5-1 aggregate victory for the Blues.

Jansson, 28, started his career at Malmo, joining as a youth player in 2006, before breaking into their first team three years later.

He left for Italian club Torino in 2014, before Leeds acquired his services in 2016, but he remains a die-hard Malmo fan – his Twitter bio reads ‘Leeds United & Malmo FF’.

And Jansson’s dedication was clear, making the two-and-a-half hour journey to London after Leeds training on Thursday.

Fans of Leeds were delighted with their defender’s passion, taking to Twitter to praise the Swede.

The Whites return to action in the Championship on Saturday – against Bolton at Elland Road – as they bid to regain their place at the top of the table.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men are currently third, two points behind Norwich and Sheffield United, but have a game in hand on both clubs.
