Brendan Rodgers to Leicester: Rangers fans mock rivals Celtic as ‘ten in a row’ chant about their manager backfires

Brendan Rodgers will not witness ten in a row after all.

The Northern Irishman has swapped Celtic for Leicester midway through the season despite the Hoops chasing a historic eighth successive Scottish Premiership title.

He has left Celtic eight points clear of bitter Old Firm rivals Rangers, but his departure has rendered one of Celtic Park’s favourite chants redundant.

“This is how it feels to be Celtic, champions again as you know, Brendan Rodgers is here for ten in a row, ten in a row…”

The landmark feat of winning 10 league titles in a row – something that has never happened previously in Scottish football – appeared a certainty with Rodgers at the helm.

Since he took charge in May 2016, the club have won back-to-back domestic trebles and, at one point, he went 69 league games without suffering defeat.

However, after Celtic confirmed they had given Rodgers permission to talk to Leicester about becoming their new manager, Rangers have been given fresh hope of stopping the Hoops from achieving the dreaded ten in a row.

And Gers fans on Twitter were quick to remind their rivals of the chant, which has now backfired.
