Argentinian manager Marcelo Bielsa is “closer than ever” to taking over as Lille’s new manager, according to La Voix du Nord.
The local media outlet claims that they expect an announcement to make the appointment official next week, after talks seriously sped up in recent days.
The club has reportedly already been preparing his arrival, and the players are convinced that Bielsa will be their new manager.
When contacted, prospective Lille buyer Gérard Lopez did not comment.
Lopez has not given up on his attempt to purchase multiple clubs in the coming months, with talks also ongoing to buy Portuguese club Gil Vicente.

Lopez is now also looking at Hull City as a possible option, where Portuguese manager Marco Silva, a man who is very close to future Lille Sporting Director Luis Campos, has just been appointed.
