Newcastle Falcons’ star duo Mateo Carreras and Adam Radwan once again showed why they are two are the most deadliest wings in the Premiership.

The Tyneside-based outfit may reside at the bottom of the league table, but they have two players in the back three that are among the best in their position.

Carreras, in particular, has enjoyed a breakthrough season, residing as joint-top try-scorer alongside Harlequins’ Cadan Murley, and he showed his incredible pace and footwork early on at Kingston Park.

Superb counter

You simply cannot kick poorly to either of them, and the Argentine displayed why in the third minute as he received the ball and immediately counter-attack.

He weaved his way past three defenders before taking play up to over halfway, where he was stopped by an excellent Courtney Lawes tackle.

It opened up an overlap on the right-hand where they released Radwan, and the England international did the rest.

He still had plenty to do, but the speedster brilliantly finished to give the Falcons a 5-0 advantage after four minutes.

Those two remained a threat, but it was Northampton who were by far the more clinical when they had the ball.

Saints take control

Alex Mitchell was dictating play brilliantly from the base, and he was rewarded with a simple run-in before Tom Collins got in on the act on what could be his final Saints appearance.

The wing touched down twice, with his first particularly impressive as he intercepted the ball, grubbed through and displayed his speed to regather and cross the whitewash.

With the Saints firmly in control, they had the bonus-point secured as Juarno Augustus touched down for a 28-5 advantage at the break in the Premiership clash.
