Samir Khiat and his associate, Michael N’Cho, were photographed by Italian media arriving at Serie A side Napoli’s training complex today following intensifying rumours linking their client, Nicolas Pépé, with a move there.

Gianluca di Marzio reported that the objective of the meeting was to see if an agreement could be reached over personal terms, with the player seeking €5m a year and his agents wanting a €5m commission. The journalist in question affirmed later on in the day that the meeting was not conclusive and that the player is yet to give the green light on a potential move to Carlo Ancelotti’s team.

It has emerged that Napoli offered the player €3.5m a year plus €500k in bonuses, falling short of his demands. The Italian journalist also cites competition from Manchester United.

La Voix du Nord chimed in this afternoon with the assertion that Lille have found a provisional agreement with all of Napoli, Inter Milan, Manchester United and a 4th unnamed side concerning a transfer fee for Nicolas Pépé. The local outlet also underlined that the player is yet to make a decision on his future destination, but they admitted that Napoli are in a “good position”.

They also reaffirmed that LOSC remain hell-bent on receiving €80m for the Ivorian forward, including bonuses.

The four firm offers accepted by Les Dogues are all understood to be of a similar size, but the difference is that Napoli are including a player in their bid, Algerian international Adam Ounas, who is valued at around the €15m mark.

The Neapolitan side undoubtedly have the financial capability to cede to Pépé’s demands and those of his agents. The idea of playing Champions’ League football, working with Carlo Ancelotti and being reunited with Kévin Malcuit on the right-flank, are all elements that excite the Ivorian.

Lille want his future settled definitively by the end of the month.
