In speaking before Marseille’s crucial Ligue 1 final day match with Strasbourg, Mattéo Guendouzi explained he has asked soon-to-be out-of-contract teammate Boubacar Kamara to stay at Marseille for next season. Guendouzi said:
“He’s having an extraordinary season and helping keep the team in the running for the Champions League. I’m not part of the negotiations but I hope he will extend his stay with us because he’s a player from the area, he likes the club and he wants the best for the club. I told him to stay, but it’s his personal choice and not mine.”
Atlético Madrid are reportedly in the lead to sign Kamara (22) on a free this summer with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur also interested.
