Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar made his return to training today following a week-long absence due to injury, that saw him miss out on the league leaders’ wins over Montpellier and at home against Toulouse this weekend.
After scoring the only goal in the team’s draw against Reims, the Brazilian was sidelined with muscle fatigue, having also undergone treatment for an ankle injury last month.
He returns in time for a busy month for PSG, who face Marseille in the Coupe de France on Wednesday, before travelling to Monaco this weekend and then welcoming Bayern Munich for the first leg of their Champions League tie just days after. The league leaders then take on Marseille once again before the end of the month, this time in the league.
With Kylian Mbappé out until after the match against the Bavarians with hamstring injury, Neymar’s return is a welcome one after Lionel Messi was the only one of the team’s star front three to feature on Saturday. The winger will be looking to add to his 17 goals and 15 assists in all competitions since the start of the campaign.
