While the now-infamous Baseball Bat accident, which aired on Impact Wrestling in its entirety this week, helped Impact Wrestling draw its highest viewership number so far in 2018, there have definitely been mixed feelings on the spot, which some people in the pro wrestling business have deemed reckless.
As we noted yesterday, Jim Cornette took to Twitter and criticized the spot with the following:
OK, I just saw this for the first time– @TheEddieEdwards should have beat the shit out of this stupid fuck–he set it up shoddy, was careless with his shitty swing & they shouldn’t have been doing it to begin with. Who the fuck “trained” @TheSamiCallihan ? I’m fucking hot. https://t.co/lpTIqxca29

Cornette’s comments appeared not to have bothered Callihan too much, as the Impact Wrestling star resorted to the “I’m rich” defense offering the following response to Cornette:
This hurts Jimmy…. I’ll just keep watching my bank account go up. https://t.co/EAY7JVKSKG

As we noted last night, Callihan was equally unapologetic for the baseball bat incident when speaking with TMZ following the spot, as the self-proclaimed “Callihan Death Machine” cut a promo running down the fans, Edwards and Jim Cornette. You check out the video above.
WWE NXT star Kassius Ohno did not take too kindly to Callihan’s response to criticism of the spot, as he Tweeted the following:
Really? Really? There is ZERO correlation between how much money you make & what happened in that ring. You should be embarrassed. ASHAMED.
