WWE 205 Live Results
Baltimore, MD
May 8, 2018

– Vic Joseph, Percy Watson and Nigel McGuinness welcomed us to 205 Live from the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. Tonight we’ll see the Lucha House Party face the bitter team of The Brian Kendrick and Gentleman Jack Gallagher. Plus, Buddy Murphy returns to action against the “Heart of 205 Live” Mustafa Ali.

– Drew Gulak made his way down to the ring and joined the commentary table to kick off the show.

(1) GRAN METALIK & LINCE DORADO def. THE BRIAN KENDRICK & JACK GALLAGHER. Pretty solid opener save for some weird comedy spots early on, including a rolling pinning sequence that went on way too long. Someone in production really messed up, because you could NOT hear anything Gulak said on commentary the whole match. Later on, Metalik did a tope con hilo to the ramp and landed hard on his tailbone, as Gallagher completely missed catching him. Finish came when the lucha stars hit stereo superkicks, followed by suicide dives to the outside, and Dorado hit the Shooting Star Press to get the pin.

(2) TONY NESE def. KEITH CLAYBALL. Poor local jobber… Nigel barely got done saying that he’s “heard a lot about Keith Clayball” before Nese was beating the stuffing out of him. Clayball dodged a big boot in the corner and thought he could get some momentum going, but ran into a series of aggressive tackles that flattened him like a pancake. Nese hit a rolling elbow strike on the floor, dragged his opponent’s lifeless body back into the ring, and murdered him with a bare knee strike in the corner.

– General Manager Drake Maverick caught up with Cruiserweight Champion Cedric Alexander and said that as the champion, he is the leader of the locker room and therefor the head of the Cruiserweight division. He announced that next week Cedric and the stars of 205 Live will face off against some of the very best from the WWE UK division.

(3) BUDDY MURPHY def. MUSTAFA ALI. This match was absolutely fantastic. In contention for one of the best 205 Live matches of 2018, and that category has some extremely stiff competition. They went almost a full 18 minutes and beat the hell out of each other. They both kicked out of literally everything. Murphy even kicked out of the rolling DDT from the apron, and the inverted 450 splash which we’ve never seen anyone do before. He hit a trio of brutal, stiff powerbombs in rapid succession and the referee almost stopped the match as Ali’s eyes were glazing over. He hit a four powerbomb and eventually connected with a second Murphy’s Law to finally get the win.
