As one of the most highly anticipated bouts of 2018 creeps ever closer, Chris Jericho made a surprise appearance via video package at today’s NJPW Best of the Super Juniors Finals at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
The pro wrestling legend had another message for the leader of Los Ingobernables de Japon, Tetsuya Naito, who he will meet in just five days at NJPW Dominion in a bout for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship.
“You made a big deal of going on last at Wrestle Kingdom 12, but as we all know you weren’t really the main event, were you Naito? It was Alpha vs. Omega – the match that was talked about around the world, around the globe. I’m just telling you the facts. You know, once again, you were booted out of the main event slot, but this time it was by me. By a Gaijin. By Chris Jericho.”
While Naito has been doing his best to remain – as he says – the most “tranquilo” man in the business, the former WWE World Champion has made a career of playing mind games with some of the toughest opponents in the history of the industry. This feud is proving to be no different, as Y2J continued to mock the champion for losing to Kazuchika Okada at Wrestle Kingdom 12 in his own passive-aggressive way.

“You’re the best New Japan has to offer. Even though you lost to Okada in the ‘semi-main event’ at the Tokyo Dome, I know you better than that. You shouldn’t be losing to Okada. You should be the IWGP Heavyweight Champion, but you’re not. That’s where I come in. You want to be known as a worldwide superstar, and I’m going to help you get there you f—ing moron! Don’t you understand? Chris Jericho’s going to take you to the Promised Land! Just being in the ring with me puts you on a different level.”
Chris Jericho vs. Tetsuya Naito will look to settle their differences this Saturday at NJPW Dominion, taking place at the legendary Osaka Jo-Hall in Osaka, Japan.
