It has been ten months since Benjamin Satterley, better known to WWE fans as Neville, walked out of Monday Night Raw, reportedly unhappy with his position in the company, and the state of the Cruiserweight division.

There have been reports since last October that the British superstar was close to reaching a deal with WWE to let him out of his contract, but it never happened and he has been kept in a holding pattern ever since. There was concern, similar to the case with Daniel Bryan, that because he was not on television or wrestling at live events, fulfilling the terms of his contract, that WWE could basically put a freeze on him indefinitely.

According to Ryan Satin at Pro Wrestling Sheet, Satterley is officially no longer an employee of the WWE. It’s not clear on exactly when he was released from his contract, making it difficult to determine when he could potentially return to the ring.

Satterley has been wrestling for more than 14 years, arriving on the U.S. independent scene in 2006 where he quickly became a stand-out star for PWG and Dragon Gate. He was signed to a WWE developmental contract in 2012 and made his NXT television debut as Adrian Neville in early 2013.

He won the NXT Tag Team Championships two times, first with Oliver Grey and later with Corey Graves, prior to Graves retiring from in-ring competition. He would of course go on to win the NXT Championship from Bo Dallas in a ladder match, and was brought to the WWE main roster in March 2015 as a member of the Monday Night Raw roster.

After the birth of the 205 Live division Neville became WWE Cruiserweight Champion, winning the title on two occasions, and was for quite some time the cornerstone of the brand before being forced to drop the belt to Enzo Amore. That decision will likely be criticized and analyzed for years to come.
