Did Mr. McMahon’s Scrambling Prevent Another WWE Raw Viewership Low?

It’s no small secret that WWE was scrambling this past week, attempting to come up with last-minute ideas to turn around their shocking post-WrestleMania ratings slide.

With top stars from Smackdown Live appearing on Raw, including Roman Reigns, Elias, Lars Sullivan, WWE Champion Kofi Kingston and the return of Daniel Bryan, as well as the announcement of a confusing “WIldcard Rule” that clearly hadn’t been thought out very well, the hope was to stop another consecutive week of all-time low viewership.

In case you missed it, WWE also made a shift in their social media, waiting until after the Raw broadcast was over to post any video content on their YouTube channel, hoping it would encourage more people to watch the show live.

Well, there’s some good news, but it’s not much…

The May 6th edition of WWE Raw was watched by an average of 2,224,000 viewers. The good news is that that number is up, but only by about 3%. The third hour barely drew above 2 million viewers this week, and it was still the second lowest watched episode of the year.
