— TNA drew its largest audience ever on Thursday night in a 1.20 cable rating (rounded up from 1.18) and an average viewership of 1.8 million. The rating is up 11.1% from last week’s Thanksgiving show, which drew a 1.12 rating and 1.6 million viewers. However, there is some bad news to report on TNA’s record rating — a number of viewers tuned out during the final half hour. The rating started to decline during the seventh quarter hour, which featured Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett talking. The rating fell all the way down to a 1.10 – the least watched segment of the show – for the main event pitting Sting vs. Rhino. The show started off strong with a 1.16 quarter hour rating featuring the Frontline and Main Event Mafia. The rating increased to a 1.22 by the start of the second hour and peaked with a 1.25 sixth quarter hour featuring the X Division six-man tag match (Sheik Abdul Bashir, Sonjay Dutt and Jimmy Rave vs. Consequences Creed, Jay Lethal and Eric Young).
— TNA held a house show in Troy, Ohio last night with the scheduled main event being called off. Rhino was scheduled to wrestle Kurt Angle in the main event, but he had to be taken to the emergency room. The Ohio Athletic Commission took Rhino’s blood pressure and it was deemed too high. As a result, the Commission requested Rhino be sent to the ER to be checked out. AJ Styles pulled double duty (he defeated Sheik Abdul Bashir earlier in the show) and replaced Rhino in the match. Styles defeated Angle in the match, but Scott Steiner came out and beat him down afterwards. This lead to Samoa Joe coming down for the save.
