As expected, Chris Jericho made his return to New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) this weekend.
Just one week after competing in the first-ever 50-man Royal Rumble match at the WWE Greatest Royal Rumble one week ago, Jericho returned to NJPW at their Wrestling Dontaku event in Fukuoka, Japan.
Jericho resumed his feud with IWGP Intercontinental Champion Tetsuya Naito, as he came out of the crowd wearing a mask, dressed up like one of the Los Ingobernables de Japon fans and attacked Naito as he was heading to the back. Jericho took Naito out with a Codebreaker and then bloodied him up by beating him down with the ring bell.
Jericho vs. Naito is expected to take place at one of NJPW’s upcoming big shows, with Dominion at Osaka-jo Hall on 6/9 and the G1 Special at the Cow Palace on 7/7 as possibilities.
