— The original plan for WWE Smackdown’s debut on FOX on October 4 to do a similar “reunion” type show that will be taking place this Monday on Raw. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that it feels like “going to the well too fast” to have two such shows in late July and again in early October but at this point it is a go and both WWE and FOX will begin promoting it in mid-September. There’s also a good chance that this show will also be promoted as the 20th Anniversary celebration for Smackdown, even though the show debuted in April 1999 (as a pilot) and went to a weekly show in August.
