NXT TV ON USA NETWORK (Hour 1) RESULTS (9/25/2019)
This week’s show opens with a recap of last week’s inaugural episode which started with a bang on the USA Network and ended with another bang on the WWE Network.
From there we see The Undisputed ERA appearing above the announce trio posing with all of their gold as the announcers talk about some of the action from last week as we get ready to kick things off inside the ring this week.
Keith Lee vs. Dominik Dijakovic
We shoot to the squared circle where out comes Keith Lee. His one-on-one contest against Dominik Dijakovic, which was announced and advertised on last week’s premiere episode, will kick off things inside the ring on this week’s show.
Out next is Dijakovic. The ring sounds and things are officially underway here inside Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL.
After some early back-and-forth action, we head to a mid-match commercial break.
When we return from the break, we see the action is still in progress inside the ring. The two again exchange offensive leads in the match, working towards the finish, which sees Lee deliver a jackhammer for the 1-2-3.
Winner: Keith Lee
Baslzer-LeRae & Dain-Riddle 2 Hype
We see a “Tale of the Tape” video airing for the Shayna Baszler vs. Candice LeRae NXT Women’s Championship showdown. Mauro Ranallo noted that this match will take place next week with “limited commercial interruptions.”
A video recap is shown of the insane Street Fight between Killian Dain and Matt Riddle from last week’s show. This leads to us seeing Riddle live backstage tonight working out and getting ready for tonight’s high-stakes rematch with title implications.
On that note, we head to another commercial break.
Dakota Kai vs. Taynara Conti
It’s time for our next match of the evening here at Full Sail. It will be in the women’s division, with Dakota Kai going one-on-one against Taynara Conti.
After they each make their entrances, this one gets underway and it actually doesn’t last very long.
In what was kept a very basic match, Kai picked up the “W” after hitting Conti with her GTK (Go To Kick) finisher, which is essentially her version of the infamous “GTS” finisher.
Winner: Dakota Kai
Big Announcements For Tonight & Next Week
It is announced that in hour two of tonight’s show, which streams live via the WWE Network, KUSHIDA will choose two partners to take on the trio of IMPERIUM’s Alexander Wolfe, Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel.
For next week’s NXT TV On USA Network & WWE Network show it is announced that The Street Profits will challenge Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish of The Undisputed ERA for the NXT Tag-Team Titles, while Candice LeRae will get the title shot she earned against Shayna Baszler for the NXT Women’s Title on last week’s show next week as well.
We head to another commercial break.
Street Fight Rematch
Matt Riddle vs. Killian Dain
And here we go with our third match of the evening — the big rematch of last week’s wild street fight between “The King of Bros” Matt Riddle and former SAnitY member Killian Dain.
Keep in mind, this one is big, as it has title implications at stake. The guys each make their entrances and this one gets underway, and it doesn’t take long before this one gets crazy all over again.
As Riddle blasts Dain with a Superman Forearm outside the ring at ringside, we head to a mid-match commercial break.
When we return from the break the action is still ongoing and things are starting to pick up once again. At one point, Dain hits a Corkscrew Moonsault for a close near fall. He also hits a big suicide dive to Riddle on the floor, which both of those spots looked even cooler because of Dain’s size.
The battle continues to progress and the intensity continues to increase now as things near the end here. Dain grabs Riddle’s head at one point and screams that he is “NOTHING!” before hitting an epic crossbody on Riddle through a wooden wall. This leads us to another mid-match commercial break.
Finally the two brawl to the finish, as several Vader bombs and crazy car-wreck collisions later, Riddle blasts Dain with a steel chair shot and then traps him in a Fujiwara armbar forcing him to tap out.
Winner and NEW No. 1 Contender to NXT Championship: Matt Riddle
After The Match: The King of Bros & The Undisputed ERA Brawl
Riddle picks up the victory and out comes NXT Champion Adam Cole. He confronts “The King of Bros.” Cole insults him leading to Riddle locking him in a Fujiwara armbar as well. Cole’s fellow Undisputed ERA teammates hit the ring for the save, forcing Riddle to retreat.
NXT TV ON WWE NETWORK (Hour 2) RESULTS (9/25/2019)
The second hour kicks off on the WWE Network now. The NXT announce team welcome us to hour two on WWE’s digital subscription platform as we see a video recap of last week’s KUSHIDA and IMPERIUM segment.
This leads to the ring entrance of Rhea Ripley. She is followed out next by Kayden Carter. These two will be going one-on-one in our WWE Network hour two opener.
The bell sounds and this one is underway, and well, it didn’t last long at all. After about two minutes of action, Ripley hits Carter with the Rip-Tide for the quick-and-easy win.
Winner: Rhea Ripley
Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch vs. “Ever-Rise” (Chase Parker & Matt Martel)
We have tag-team action in our second contest inside the squared circle here in hour two of NXT TV, which is currently streaming live via the WWE Network.
The match will see the team of Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan take on the duo of “Ever-Rise,” a duo consisting of Chase Parker and Matt Martel.
On commentary, Ranallo points out that the “Ever-Rise” team is attempting to proudly represent Canada. The two actually dominate the action early on utilizing strong mat-based amateur wrestling and quick-tags keeping fresh guys on their weakened and beaten down opposition at all-times.
Unfortunately for the proud duo, they found themselves on the losing end of the contest, as Burch and Lorcan made a comeback and ultimately scored the pinfall victory to pick up the “W” in this one.
Winners: Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch
Raul Mendoza vs. Cameron Grimes
One of the stars of the NXT Breakout Tourney, Cameron Grimes, is in action next. He will be going one-on-one with “The Prestige” — Raul Mendoza next here on NXT TV.
In what was another pretty basic match, the up-and-comer Grimes picked up another victory here on NXT TV, as he secured the victory over tougher-than-expected opponent Mendoza, who had his moments throughout the contest.
Winner: Cameron Grimes
KUSHIDA, Tyler Breeze & Fandango vs. Marcel Barthel, Fabian Aichner & Alexander Wolfe
It is time for our previously announced six-man tag-team match.
Let us find out who KUSHIDA will be picking to join him as his two mystery tag-team partners in his three-on-three battle against every member of Imperium, save the WWE United Kingdom Champion WALTER.
We find out that it is none other than Breezango that will be joining KUSHIDA, as out comes Tyler Breeze and Fandango to a nice reaction from the fans in Full Sail University.
The six-man tag-team match is now officially underway. They actually gave this one main event level time to develop and story-tell as they led into the big finish.
The finish came when all six man began brawling late in the match. KUSHIDA caught Bartel with a hard punch, who respnods with a European Uppercut of his own. Seconds later, KUSHIDA surprises Barthel with a rollup for the 1-2-3 and the win for his team.
Winners: KUSHIDA & Breezango
After The Match: Uht-Oh, Here We Go!
After the match, KUSHIDA and Imperium talk trash near the entrance way on the ramp. The announcers talk about KUSHIDA still being undefeated when out of nowhere, WALTER blasts him with a big boot to the face. This leads to all four members of IMPERIUM posing on the stage to close this weeks show seemingly several minutes early.
