Akebono was rushed to the hospital after a show in Fukuoka, Japan. He has been placed into a medically induced coma. He was hospitalized after a match on Tuesday night in Omuta, working for DDT, and is expected to be in the hospital for at least 10-days.
Akebono appeared at WrestleMania 21, where he defeated The Big Show in a sumo match.
