Smackdown Tag Team Reportedly Set to Split Up Very Soon

On the most recent edition of Smackdown, we saw Mojo Rawley and Zack Ryder take part in the special Independence Day Battle Royal that was on the show. The two of them have been working together in the Hype Bros. tag team for several years now. The two of them have not captured the tag team titles for any WWE show, but they did earn a title shot last year. Unfortunately, Zack Ryder was injured and the team never did get their title shot, but Mojo found singles success when he won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal match during Wrestlemania this year. As the Independence Day Battle Royal foreshadowed, the team may be getting ready to split up.
Cageside Seats is now reporting that the match started the beginning stages of a Hype Bros split that will be happening soon. After losing the match for a tag title opportunity, Mojo Rawley was visibly dejected backstage. He and Ryder were then placed in the battle royal for a chance to face Kevin Owens for the United States Championship. During the match, Rawley turned on Ryder when he decided to eliminate him from the match himself. It wasn’t too long after that though that Mojo was eliminated from the battle royal. It looks like this storyline is set to continue, and it may not be much longer until the two men are split up completely.
Mojo and Zack have been part of a tag team for years now, going as far back as when Mojo was still training in NXT. It’s no secret that WWE probably favors Mojo Rawley and sees great potential in him, so the time for the Hype Bros to end their partnership may be coming soon. WWE has split up multiple tag teams within the span of only three months. #DIY, The Golden Truth, Enzo and Cass, and now the Hype Bros are no longer working together as a team. Heath Slater and Rhyno are also rumored to be splitting up soon, but that has yet to happen on television. Perhaps WWE could bring in some new tag teams soon enough, but the division is set to lose yet another imminently.
