FRIDAY NEWS UPDATE
Jon Jones and Dana White have been firing back and forth yesterday and today. Basically each is calling the other a liar. White claimed Jones was asking for $30 million to do the fight with Francis Ngannou. Jones said he never asked for a dollar figure but said he signed a new deal but feels he deserves more for a superfight. White said that he had text messages that prove otherwise. Jones then told White to release the text messages. Jones also suggested to White that if he doesn’t want to pay him, release him so he can be a free agent. Dana White suggested both take a lie detector test. Releasing the text messages would be more enlightening. Jones did say that he makes more than $5 million per fight but believes he should be paid more for a fight with Ngannou.
Christopher DeJoseph, who was one of the lead writers of Smackdown, was let go. No other details are available.

UFC
In an interview with Aaron Bronster, Dana White was asked why Ronaldo Jacare Souza wasn’t sent home when he arrived in Jacksonville after telling the UFC he had been in contact with someone who had COVID-19. White defended it saying that they were waiting for his test result first. “Because I didn’t want to. It’s my show. I’ll do what I want to do. I didn’t want to. I wanted to wait for the test to come in.”
There is another controversy brewing for tomorrow’s show. According to Ariel Helwani, Nevada wants everyone in attendance at the shows to wear a mask. White told reporters he would not be wearing a mask, and if he’s forced to, will watch the show from a private room instead.
