Austin Aries has been lighting up the independent wrestling circuit in recent months and has also returned to Impact Wrestling. Aries is currently the world champion of the promotion, but it looks like the “Greatest Man Who Ever Lived” is not finished collecting championships just yet. Aries made a surprise appearance during Ring of Honor’s 16th anniversary shows after Kenny King defended the ROH Television title against Silas Young. He challenged King for his title. Despite the fact that he was carrying the Impact’s world title, Impact Wrestling was never mentioned by name. There is a chance that more talent crossovers between ROH and Impact could be on the way if Aries’ recent return turns out to be more than meets the eye.
That’s how you make an honorable impact…#thetruth #tgmtel #thebeltcollector

Despite John Cena recently ruling out the possibility of a match between himself and The Undertaker at WrestleMania this year, the belief is that the match will definitely be taking place at the event this year. It will be “The Phenom’s” first match since losing to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33 last year, a match wherein The Undertaker heavily teased his retirement from pro wrestling. On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez has speculated that “The Deadman” will be returning to television to begin his feud against John Cena as soon as this week. Alvarez says that the buildup could begin on Raw this Monday night, but it is even more likely that the story between Cena and Undertaker will start at the Fastlane pay-per-view this Sunday.
As previously reported, WWE decided to release Mae Young Classic and NXT competitors Abbey Laith and Sage Beckett this week. Both women only competed on NXT television a handful of times and have mostly competed on NXT live events in recent months. The releases of these two were sudden, but a new report from PWInsider has revealed that WWE decided to let the two female competitors go simply because NXT officials did not see much progression in either of their training. Laith has since thanked WWE for giving her an opportunity and has since announced that she will be returning to the independent wrestling circuit as Kimber Lee. Beckett still has yet to comment on her release.
