Ever since he arrived in NXT, Roderick Strong has been one of the top babyfaces in the developmental brand. Strong has been established as a hard working family man with a hear of gold. It looks like that man is no more as Roddy shocked everybody when he suddenly turned on his tag team partner Pete Dunne during their Triple Threat tag team match at NXT Takeover: New Orleans. Strong’s backbreaker to Dunne cost him the match and gave the Undisputed Era the win. After the match, Strong put on the group’s armband as he, Adam Cole, and Kyle O’Reilly celebrated in the ring. He later posed with the group and threw up their hand gesture as well, further cementing the heel turn.
One of the most interesting signings to NXT this year came when it was announced that War Machine would be joining the company. Raymond Rowe and Hanson have been competing at NXT live events over the past few weeks, but the hard-hitting tag team has yet to debut on NXT television. However, that is now expected to change very soon as the team arrived during NXT television tapings before NXT Takeover: New Orleans. Rowe and Hanson, now known as the War Raiders, will be coming to dominate the NXT tag team division very soon. Expect to see one of the greatest tag teams in the industry today finally make their televised NXT in-ring debuts during next week’s show.

Another big match which took place during last night’s NXT Takeover: New Orleans event was the NXT Women’s Championship match between Ember Moon and Shayna Baszler. The two have had a few matches with the title on the line in the past, and despite Shayna’s dominance over the entire NXT women’s division, Moon has always been able to find a way to retain her championship. Moon was not so lucky this time around, as Baszler defeated Moon by choking her out. Baszler is now the the seventh woman in NXT history to win the developmental brand’s women’s championship. After the match, Baszler celebrated with her best friends, Ronda Rousey and Jessamyn Duke, at ringside.
