More on Implications If Crown Jewel is Cancelled, Smaller Crew

According to Dave Meltzer on a recent edition of The Wrestling Observer Radio Program, the only real way WWE is going to cancel The Crown Jewel Show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is if The US government and/or The Trump Administration explicitly tells them that they can’t or shouldn’t go. That is unlikely to happen as US-Saudi relations are generally good so WWE is proceeding ahead with the event until further notice.
The biggest complication if the show gets cancelled or moved is related to the returns of Brock Lesnar and Shawn Michaels, as both are primarily going to be wrestling in exchange for a massive pay day. If The Saudi Event doesn’t happen, that money in theory would not be there for WWE to spend to compensate wrestlers and it is unclear how WWE would proceed with their already advertised matches.

There are currently 10 matches scheduled for Crown Jewel – with seven of them being tournament matches for The World Cup, along with The Tag Team Match pitting The Undertaker & Kane against D-X and The Triple Threat Match for The WWE Universal Title. Unless a Battle Royal type match is added, it appears that this event will see a much smaller crew than The Greatest Royal Rumble which included The 50-Man Royal Rumble Match.
