Earlier this year, Big Cass was released from his WWE contract after several reports of backstage heat began to surface online. Cass was seen as a true potential superstar in the eyes of several fans and company officials, but his time in WWE came to an end back in June of this year. Since then, Cass has returned to the independent wrestling circuit as Big C, and he has admitted that he had made plenty of mistakes during his time with WWE. Cass remains hopeful that he will be able to start working for the company again someday, and he hopes to do that by making a name for himself on the indies. Unfortunately, the former WWE Superstar ran into an apparent medical issue over the weekend.

Big Cass had been scheduled to compete at a House of Hardcore show in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania last night. However, HOH founder Tommy Dreamer revealed to the crowd yesterday that Big Cass had suffered a seizure during the intermission for the event. According to PWInsider, Cass had the seizure in front of the fans in the lobby of the old ECW arena. From there, an ambulance was eventually called and it took him to a nearby hospital. Cass had been in the lobby to sign autographs and take photos with fans, and he was also supposed to compete during the second half of the show. The report stresses that this is not part of a storyline, and Dreamer also said that the incident was not related to drugs or alcohol.

There has been a lot of divided opinions over WWE’s reported recent changes to NXT UK contracts over the past couple of weeks. WWE’s decision to make certain NXT UK roster members exclusive and restrict their outside bookings to other promotions closely aligned with the company has been seen as potentially damaging to the UK’s indie wrestling scene from fans while others have embraced the move. While speaking with The Mirror, Cody Rhodes offered his own take on the situation by stating that WWE has no plans to overtake the UK. Rhodes says that the company is likely more interested in providing an entertaining show for fans in a country where wrestling happens to be popular at the moment.
“There is such a tendency to jump on WWE and talk bad about them in terms
of these contracts and what they are doing. But with the people they

have in place, Johnny Saint, William Regal, and Triple H, and how he is,
there is no secret plan to destroy the indy scene in the UK. They just
see a wonderful product and they want to protect their guys.”
said Cody.
