Ratings are in for the latest installment of the Wednesday Night Wars — and both shows dropped from last week against better-than-usual competition from both the NBA and cable news programming.

AEW Dynamite on TNT averaged 828,000 viewers, down five percent from last week. In the 18-49 demo, the show was down three percent, averaging a 0.34 rating. That rating, though, was good for third place overall on cable, the best the show has ever performed in relation to cable competition.

NXT on the USA Network was down seven percent, averaging 712,000 viewers. In the demo, they finished 37th on cable with a 0.22 rating, down eight percent from last week.

There were two NBA games last night on ESPN that had parts of both air directly opposite wrestling. The later game topped all of cable with a 0.49 rating in the 18-49 demo. The early game actually finished behind AEW with a 0.33 rating. Also topping AEW was an episode of Bravo’s Real Housewives of New Jersey, which averaged a 0.46 rating and 1.304 million viewers.

As it does most weeks, NXT lost to Dynamite in every demo except those over 50, where NXT had a 0.36 to 0.29 advantage. The strongest category for AEW was men 18-49, where they had a 0.48 to 0.28 advantage.

The season two premiere of Miz & Mrs., which aired after NXT last night, averaged 437,000 total viewers and a 0.18 rating in the 18-49 demo. The season one finale averaged 1.094 million viewers and a 0.38 rating in the demo when airing after SmackDown in August.

With Miz & Mrs. airing after the show, NXT didn’t have an overrun last night.

Here’s a look at the 18-49 ratings and average viewership for both Dynamite and NXT over the last 10 weeks:
