Marks 25 Years with B.A.A. Boston Marathon

BOSTON
(April
11, 2012) ÛÒ Dave McGillivray will mark his 25th
year with the B.A.A. Boston Marathon this Monday – 13 years as race director
and the first 12 years as technical director. After overseeing the race
that day,
he will then return to the start line in Hopkinton and run the historic
marathon for the 40th consecutive time ÛÒ fourth on the all-time
list.
McGillivray
also was recently profiled in a RunnerÛªs World piece by acclaimed sportswriter
Steve Rushin. The 10-page article, entitled ÛÏThe Boston Wrangler,Û provided
insights into McGillivrayÛªs approach to work and life and his many
accomplishments, including raising millions of dollars for charity through

On
Monday night, the B.A.A. Boston Marathon recognized McGillivray for his 25
years with the race and his 40 years in a row running the course. The
recognition was made by B.A.A. Executive Director Tom Grilk at the final
Organizing Committee meeting held at the B.A.A offices in Boston. This year
marks the 116th edition of the worldÛªs oldest annual marathon.
McGillivray,
a Medford, Mass., native who lives in North Andover, Mass., is president and
