In a brave act, the villagers in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena district shot dead a dacoit after a gun battle on Friday. Morena falls in Chambal region famous for dacoits. The dacoits were trying to extort money from the villagers in Karna Manpur village-40 kms from Morena district headquarters.
Villagers told police that seven dacoits, five armed with guns had attacked the village last week telling them to pay Rs 50,000 and ghee. “Last night they came again asking for money. When they fired, the villagers too fired in defence,” said Morena SP Amit Sanghi.
