Stars of Pretty Little Liars Say Emotional Goodbyes to the Show on Final Day of Filming

The end of Pretty Little Liars just got one step closer. After filming wrapped on the show’s finale Wednesday, the cast of the hit soap expressed a myriad of bittersweet emotions that has us feeling all the feels. With the final episode behind them—which airs at the end of its upcoming seventh season—Lucy Hale (Aria), Ashley Benson (Hanna), Shay Mitchell (Emily), Troian Bellisario (Spencer), Sasha Pieterse (Alison), Keegan Allen (Toby), and showrunner Marlene King, took to social media to say goodbye to their longtime home away from home.

Benson shared a photo on Instagram of her sitting with her head in her hands in the room that was hers on the show, and which is now empty. “I will never forget this experience,” she wrote in the caption. “I was so lucky to work with such amazing people who have affected my life greatly.” The actress also went on to thank her fans, and share her excitement for the future. “I’m so happy to know that all of you will be by my side,” she ended the caption along with a heart emoji.

Like Benson, Bellisario also said goodbye to her room on Instagram. “Goodbye room (and my home for 7 years). Be good to the next girl. Whoever she is.” she wrote alongside a snap of her piece of the show’s set.

Hale said goodbye to the “character that has shaped her” in the caption of an old photo of her and her castmates, adding “Bittersweet feelings today, but so proud of what we’ve done.” Pieterse echoed her sentiments, noting that the day was filled with both “happy and sad tears.”

Mitchell also shed more than a few tears, and tweeted that she couldn’t stop crying.

Allen, who plays Bellisario’s love interest on the show, paid homage to his onscreen sweetheart with a truly heartfelt message. ” I have grown up with you and learned so much from you,” he captioned a ‘gram of her playing the guitar. “I’m a better person because of you.”

And last but not least, King paid homage to her “little show that could” with a letter to the cast on Rosewood High School letterhead.

Get those tissues ready, the final 10 episodes of Pretty Little Lairs airs on Freeform in April.
