Michael Kors to streamline social media sales

New York Fashion Week designer Michael Kors is to streamline its social
media sales by offering Instagram users to purchase goods directly from the
photo image platform.

Michael Kors, who has 3.1 million fans, will launch the tag #InstaKors,
which aims to link Instagram with its e-commerce channels.

When visitors sign up on michaelkors.com using their e-mail and Instagram
handle, they receive e-mails with direct links to purchase any items they
have “liked” in the Instagram posts. Any post enabled with the shopping
feature will be hashtagged #InstaKors.

The company will release 60 products using the hashtag over the holiday
season, including 20 shoppable Instagrams.

Kors currently has a buy option both on Facebook and Twitter, however
Instagram is the company’s fasted growing social media platform. Facebook
and Twitter are instrumental in inspiring fans and helping in the shopping
process, but finding a way to “shop” Instagram was a necessity, the company
said.
