Dr. Christine Blasey Ford Is Still Receiving Death Threats

Back in September, Ford accused Judge Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her during their high school years at a house party that took place in the early 1980s. Her emotional testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee — as well as his firey response — gripped the attention of the nation.

“Brett’s assault on me drastically altered my life,” Ford said. “For a very long time, I was too afraid and ashamed to tell anyone the details.”

At the time of the hearing, Ford spoke up about experiencing intimidation, even telling the committee, “My family and I have been the target of constant harassment and death threats. People have posted my personal information on the internet. This has resulted in additional emails, calls, and threats.”

Since then, things have continued to worsen for Ford. NPR reports that she has had to move four times, pay for private security detail, and that she hasn’t been able to return to her job as a professor at Palo Alto University. Ford also started a GoFundMe page to pay for expenses, raising $637,031 at the time of publication.

“The cost for security, housing, transportation and other related expenses are much higher than we anticipated and they do not show signs of letting up,” she wrote on her GoFundMe page. “Funds received via this account will be used to help us pay for these mounting expenses.

That said, some of her critics are insisting Ford will milk her experience for a book deal. Her lawyers, however, say that won’t be happening. “Dr. Ford’s current focus is solely on recovering from the experience and returning to her job responsibilities – not on writing a book.”
