Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino had to be held back by his own staff following a heated post-match confrontation with referee Mike Dean on Saturday.
Spurs’ title hopes were all but ended after suffering a shock 2-1 defeat to Premier League strugglers Burnley.
The Clarets took the lead in controversial fashion. Jan Vertonghen’s tackle on Jeff Hendrick appeared to come off the Burnley midfielder’s leg, however, Dean awarded the hosts a corner, which Chris Wood headed in on 57 minutes.
The returning Harry Kane brought Spurs level before Ashley Barnes smashed home a winner seven minutes from time.
Both Pochettino and assistant manager Jesus Perez confronted Dean at full-time to most likely dispute his part in Burnley’s opener.
Perez was seen furiously pointing at Dean, while Pochettino was restrained by his own backroom staff.
Pochettino and Perez could face charges from the FA in the forthcoming days.
The result means Liverpool can open an eight-point gap on third-placed Spurs if they beat arch rivals Manchester United on Sunday, live on talkSPORT.
