It’s not just big transfer fees that get you success in the Premier League as clubs also need to spend a hefty amount on wages.
At the start of the 1992/93 season, the average wage was around £2,000 a week but now some players earn almost 200 times more.
And since the inception of the Premier League certain clubs have spent a lot more on salaries than others as they attempt to win the title, or reach the promised land of the Champions League.
