Arsenal and Chelsea are keeping tabs on Brentford forward Said Benrahma, according to reports.
Benrahma, a winger who can play on both flanks, is one of the most in-form players in English football right now, having been involved in 12 goals since the beginning of 2019.
The 23-year-old Algeria international has scored seven goals and created a further 12 throughout the entire Championship campaign, catching the eye since his transfer from Nice last summer.
And, according to Le Buteur, Premier League sides Arsenal and Chelsea have already started taking a closer look at the prolific attacker.
Other ‘big clubs’ in the top flight are also keen on Benrahma, though they remain unnamed in the report.
There are no suggestions bids for Benrahma are imminent, though the player himself has made clear his desire to play in the Premier League sometime in the future.
Speaking in the wake of Saturday’s defeat of Hull City, in which he scored his first career hat-trick, Benrahma opened the door to playing in the top flight – something he wants to do with his current team.
“It took me some time to adjust and adapt to the Championship,” the youngster said, “and now I do feel a lot more comfortable playing here and in this division. Things are going really well.
“I was obviously delighted to get the goals, and to do it in such a great team performance made it very special.
“It is the first hat-trick I have ever scored, and something that I will always remember – it makes you pleased and proud.
“Our objective now for the rest of the season is to finish as high as we can and continue to climb the table.
“And for me personally I would love to play in the Premier League one day, and I don’t see any reason why that can’t be with Brentford. Any player wants to test themselves at the highest level.”
Brentford were beaten by Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night to sit in the bottom half of the Champions table – 10 points behind the final play-off place.
