Sadio Mane has beaten his best ever goal tally in a Premier League campaign with 10 games to go.

The Liverpool forward scored 13 goals in his debut campaign with the Reds in 2016/17.

Mane followed that up with 10 last season and is now having his best return ever with 14 Premier League strikes so far.

The 26-year-old Senegal international has never scored fewer than 10 goals in a Premier League season as he netted 10 and 11 times in his two years at Southampton.

Mane has been an integral part of Liverpool’s dangerous attack that also features Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.

Firmino has nine goals while Salah is on 17, one behind the league’s top scoring player, Sergio Aguero.

Mane scored twice in Liverpool’s 5-0 thrashing of Watford on Wednesday as they kept their one point lead at the top of the Premier League.

The forward has netted in each of his last five games at Anfield and it is the eighth time that feat has been achieved by a Liverpool player in the Premier League era.

The last person to do that was Salah, who is chasing a record of his own as he is one goal away from 50 in the Premier League and would do so in fewer games than any other player in the club’s history.

Mane is also closing in on beating his best ever league season goal tally. He scored 16 times for Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga during the 2012/13 season.
