Football is a passionate game but sometimes things can boil over and players and managers can take it a bit too far.

This is exactly what happened to Mauricio Pochettino, who berated referee Mike Dean and the match officials in the immediate aftermath of Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat at Burnley.

However, it started to get out of hand and the Argentine and his assistants got closer and closer to the officials with Burnley defender Phil Bardsley being the unlikely peacemaker in the melee.

Pochettino admitted he was wrong with the way he reacted after the game to the written press and he faces the prospect of a Football Association charge after it was revealed Dean will include it in his referee’s report of the game.

And of course, a number of Arsenal fans leapt to the defence of the referee, and took to Twitter to call on the FA to punish the Spurs boss for his actions.
