Leeds United could land a documentary deal after it was revealed their remarkable season is being captured by a local film crew.

Filmmakers The City Talking, based in Yorkshire, have been given exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the club’s promotion-chasing campaign, according to the Daily Mail.

The likes of Netflix and Amazon would no doubt be interested – given the success of football-inspired serials about Manchester City and Sunderland – especially in light of the recent ‘Spygate’ scandal.

However, it is understood the star of the show, Leeds’ eccentric manager Marcelo Bielsa, has not spoken to the cameras, which could cause potential issues.

There is currently no deal in place for a documentary, but it has already been a remarkable season at Elland Road, with more twists and turns still to come.

The historic club are two points adrift of Championship leaders Norwich with a game in hand, as they bid to end their 15-year exile from the Premier League.

Bielsa’s brand of electrifying, energetic football has reignited the club, and ‘El Loco’ has also dominated headlines off the field.

The Argentine admitted sending a spy to watch Derby train ahead of the Championship clash between the two sides, a move which divided opinion across the football world.

Amid the scandal, Bielsa delivered a bizarre yet fascinating power-point presentation, detailing the lengths to which his meticulous analysis goes.

Leeds were eventually fined £200,000 over the incident and given a severe reprimand by the EFL.

The club now have 15 games left to complete a fairytale ending to any potential documentary.
