Harry Kane was spotted on the Tottenham training pitch – a picture that will surely put a smile on Tottenham fan’s faces.

The 25-year-old striker has been sidelined since injuring his ankle in a 1-0 defeat to Manchester United in January.

He was expected to be ruled out until March, but has returned ahead of schedule and could even play against Burnley on Saturday – live on talkSPORT at 12.30pm.

It will be a welcome boost for manager Mauricio Pochettino, though Kane’s absence has not derailed Spurs’ title hopes, with four successive Premier League wins in addition to beating Borussia Dortmund 3-0 in their Champions League last-16 first leg clash.

Kane is also delighted, tweeting a picture of himself training with the caption: “Great to be back with my team.”

Speaking ahead of Tottenham’s most recent league win, against Leicester on Sunday 10 February, Pochettino revealed Kane could make a comeback at Turf Moor.

“He is doing fantastic,” he said. “We need to stop him every day because he wants to be ahead of his recovery and he’s very optimistic and determined to play as soon as possible.

“It’s unbelievable. If you see him he’s nearly ready to play but we need to be realistic too and of course in between all the areas to take the best decision.

“He’s so close to come back again. Not for [Leicester], not for [Borussia Dortmund] but we will see after. Maybe [for Burnley], maybe yes.”
