Tottenham star Harry Kane has returned to first-team training two weeks ahead of schedule.

The 25-year-old has been sidelined since injuring his ankle in a 1-0 defeat to Manchester United in January.

He was expected to be ruled out until March, but the Evening Standard report he could make a return to action against Burnley on Saturday – live on talkSPORT at 12.30pm.

Kane’s absence has not derailed Spurs’ title hopes, with Mauricio Pochettino’s men winning four successive Premier League games, while thrashing Borussia Dortmund 3-0 in their Champions League last-16 first leg clash.

However, the 20-goal striker’s return will aid Spurs further in their attempts at winning silverware, with the club just five points off league leaders Manchester City.

Speaking after Tottenham’s win against Leicester earlier this month, Pochettino revealed Kane could make a comeback at Turf Moor.

He said: “He is doing fantastic. We need to stop him every day because he wants to be ahead of his recovery and he’s very optimistic and determined to play as soon as possible.

“It’s unbelievable. If you see him he’s nearly ready to play but we need to be realistic too and of course in between all the areas to take the best decision.

“He’s so close to come back again. Not for Sunday, not for Wednesday but we will see after. Maybe [for Burnley], maybe yes.”
