Manchester City defender Gemma Bonner has been recalled to the England Women’s squad for the 2019 SheBelieves Cup.
However, Phil Neville, the manager, has left Chelsea’s Millie Bright and Jade Moore of Reading out of his selection as the pair continue to build up their fitness following injuries.
Defender Bonner, 27, last played for the Lionesses in a 5-0 victory over Kazakhstan in November 2017.
England boss Neville said of his squad for the tournament in the United States: “The quality and depth of the squad is so deep now, which makes selecting 23 players a difficult task.
“We’re all looking forward to meeting up and everyone is ready and raring to go. These are exciting times ahead and this is a huge year for the Lionesses.”
The Lionesses kick-off the four-team tournament, part of their preparations for this summer’s World Cup, against Brazil on Wednesday, February 27.
They then face the USA three days later and Japan on Tuesday, March 5.
