The Premier League is the most watched division in world football.

England’s top-flight division boasts extraordinary broadcast figures – with access to it in over 212 countries and in nearly 650 million homes.

Its entertaining and unpredictable nature and its epic fan culture attracts huge audiences from across the globe

But which clubs have the best stadium atmosphere? talkSPORT.com has explored the data found from Football Ground Maps, where users rate the arenas they have attended, to rank all 20 clubs in the division.

Here are their findings…


20. West Ham United – London Stadium

In last position are the Hammers.

The ground, albeit only a recent home to the claret and blue outfit, has an average star rating of 2.5/5 from 4,362 visitors.

19. Arsenal – Emirates Stadium

The Emirates stadium, as flashy as it is, fails to conjure up a good atmosphere according to the data found.

Like the London Stadium it averages a 2.5/5 star rating from 38,538 people who have visited the ground.

18. Cardiff City – Cardiff City Stadium

The stadium in the Welsh capital is the third last on the list.

It goes half a star better than the bottom two, however, averaging three stars from 12,655 people who have visited the stadium.

17. Manchester United – Old Trafford

Surprisingly, the data recorded suggests the atmosphere at the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ isn’t what it’s made out to be.

16. Manchester City – Etihad Stadium

The Etihad Stadium takes the next spot in the list one above their city rivals.

From 44,881 visitors to the ground the atmosphere has an average three star rating.

15. AFC Bournemouth – Dean Court

Bournemouth’s 11,500 strong abode takes the next spot on the list.

The south coast club’s ground also has a three star average rating from its 32,271 visitors.

14. Burnley – Turf Moor

Turf Moor takes 14th spot in the list.

43,226 match-goers to the Lancashire club have given the atmosphere an average three star rating.

13. Watford – Vicarage Road

The Hornets’ 21,577 capacity stadium has the 13th best atmosphere in the division according to the data.

The atmosphere has an average three star rating from 53,623 visitors.

12. Everton – Goodison Park

The Toffees’ ground surprisingly doesn’t make the top ten on the list.

Goodison only takes 12th spot, with 53,443 visitors handing it an average three star rating atmosphere.

11. Leicester City – King Power Stadium

The Foxes’ stadium takes 11th spot in the rankings.

The stadium has been given an average 3.5/5 star ranking from 43,029 people who have visited the ground.

10. Chelsea – Stamford Bridge

The Blues’ west London ground creeps into the top ten in the list.

From 59,688 visitors it has an average 3.5/5 star ranking.

9. Fulham – Craven Cottage

The Whites’ homely ground takes 9th spot in the rankings according to visitors of the ground.

The atmosphere has been given a 3.5 star rating from 54,045 attendees to the stadium.

8. Huddersfield Town – The John Smith’s Stadium

The Premier League newcomers this season may be struggling for form but their fans still conjure up a great atmosphere.

From 41,279 visitors to the stadium it has an average 3.5/5 star ranking.

7. Wolverhampton Wanderers – Molineux

The home of the Wanderers has the 7th best atmosphere in the league rankings.

55,441 visitors to the ground have given it an average 3.5/5 star rating.

6. Southampton – St Mary’s Stadium

The atmosphere at St Mary’s is ranked just outside the top five.

39,592 people have given it an average 3.5/5 star rating.

5. Brighton & Hove Albion – The Amex Stadium

The south coast club has a 30,000 stadium capacity and they use to good effect according to the data, sitting in 5th in the rankings.

9,424 people who have visited the stadium have given it an average 3.5/5 ranking for atmosphere.

4. Crystal Palace – Selhurst Park

Selhurst Park is known for having a cracking atmosphere and the data corresponds to this.

58,950 people who have visited the stadium has given it a 3.5/5 star ranking – the fourth best in the division.

3. Liverpool – Anfield

Reds fans prize their club on the atmosphere it generates and the findings from the research would suggest they have reason to be proud.

Anfield generates the third best stadium atmosphere, with 68,566 people averaging it a 3.5/5 star ranking.

2. Tottenham Hotspur – Wembley Stadium

Tottenham haven’t even moved into their new stadium yet but according to the figures they generate a great atmosphere at Wembley regardless of whether its their home or not.

22,803 visitors to the national ground have given it a 3.5/5 ranking.

1. Newcastle United – St James’ Park

According to the data, the Magpies’ much-adored stadium conjures up the best atmosphere in the league.

53,795 visitors of the ground have averaged it have a 4/5 average star ranking.
